With pride, architect and composer Ron van Leeuwen presents the CD 'Architones', performed by the Paradox Jazz Orchestra. Architones contains 13 pieces of music, each inspired by iconic buildings such as Notre Dame, the Great Pyramid of Cheops, and modern examples like the Empire State Building and the Gherkin.

Similar to the buildings, the style of the music varies each time. Jazz, big band, burlesque, ballroom, bolero, Latin, pop, hip hop, they all make an appearance. Yet, there is a motif that recurs in almost all pieces. It symbolizes the changes that buildings undergo during their often centuries-long lifespan.

The combination of vibrant big band sounds and new compositions will provide a unique listening experience that will appeal to both lovers of various music styles and architecture. Architones is, in a sense, a tribute to the diversity and grandeur of both art worlds.
